This petrol tap solution fits the Yamaha RD500 LC and RZ500 YPVS models manufactured in 1985

The original OEM part has now been discontinued but those that are available are very expensive.

This is a brand new fuel tap solution to fit the Yamaha models listed above. These taps have the primer setting so that you can prime the carburettors without running the bike. This replaces part number 26 on the image.

Note that our tap has the fuel outlets on the right as does the original as well as a vacuum pipe on the rear left hand side.  Plan on rerouting and renewing your pipes please.

ALSO NOTE AND DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND ... That the mounting hole centres on this tap may be different to the OEM part. Please message us with your mounting hole centres.

Don't mess about trying to reseal your old original fuel tap. We've tried all that and it just doesn't last. The original Yamaha repair kits used NBR rubber which is not ethanol resistant for the modern E5 and E10 fuels that are now being sold.

They generally leak through the front or stop flowing fuel or just leak continuously 😢

The Yamaha repair seal kits are an expensive gamble too because the inside of the tap will require a day of ultrasonic cleaning to get the hardened gunge and crystals out before you can even think about fitting the new seals!

Our taps are as good as you are going to buy, I've searched high and low for a long time for a tap suitable for these bikes that are just right and these are the best!

We check each tap before dispatch for any casting errors and tightness of the tap.

To date, we have had no returns or issues with my supplier and manufacturer.

Fitting this will eradicate all the usual problems of the tap not working and fuel not flowing or leaking taps.

These taps also have a prime setting. This can be used to fill the carburettors if the bike has been laid up for a while. It allows fuel to flow continuously and should not be used instead of the vacuum function.

These taps are very well made with very good casting material and tolerances, they are not made from 'monkey metal' like lots of other cheap taps are. I've bought them!

Mounting holes are threaded for 6mm bolts, you may only be able to use 1 mounting hole.

Connection to fuel lines : 7 mm internal diameter fuel pipe

Vacuum connection: 5 mm internal diameter pipe.

We would recommend that you fit an inline filter as there are no filters on the tap although your in tank free flowing tank should have an internal filter
