Here is an interesting fossil Devonian fish from Scotland. It's not very detailed but is in a nodule, but what makes it more interesting is the provenance and old label that is glued on the back. 

Provenance: This piece is from a Victorian-era collection I picked up recently. The piece was originally sold by British natural history dealer Bryce McMurdo Wright to Massachusetts naturalist John Cummings in the 1850's - 1870's. The piece eventually were stored in the Woburn Library attic where they sat and were forgotten for the next century. They were rediscovered in the early 2000's and sold by Argentum Auctions in 2003 to Rhode Island collector Sal Avella. I recently purchased part of the collection. This piece includes a label that was likely produced by John Cummings in the late 1800's.
