BESCHREIBUNG
Schön gedruckte Post‐Inkunabel‐Ausgabe der Summa Theologica des Florentiner Erzbischofs Antoninus mit dem Repertorium.
AUSSTATTUNGZweispaltige gotische Type, noch ganz im Stil einer Inkunabel gedruckt. Zwei schöne figürliche Titelbordüren in Holzschnitt. Eine große Holzschnitt‐Druckermarke auf dem Titel zum Repertorium. Ferner 10 kleine, in zwei Reihen angeordnete Holzschnitte mit Heiligenbildern unterhalb des Titels zu Band I sowie einer kleinen Holzschnitt-druckermarke am Schluss von Teil IV.

EINBÄNDE
Zwei originale, uniforme, spätgotische Schweinslederbände. Blindgeprägtes Schweinsleder über schweren Holzdeckeln. Die Deckel mit rechteckig und diagonal verlaufenden Streicheisenlinien. Außenbordüren mit Blüten‐ und Lilien‐Rauten‐stempeln, die Mittelkästen mit großen Blütenstempeln. Wohl süddeutsche Werkstatt (Schwaben?). Abgeschrägte Kanten. Vier intakte Schließen.
Vier echte Bünde. Umfangreiches Griffregister. Sehr guter, genuiner Zustand.
Buchblöcke und Bindung fest und stabil. Deckel etwas fleckig, berieben und mit einigen Wurmlöchern. Schließbügel stilecht erneuert.
Folio: 31,5 x 21,5 cm. Gesamtdicke der Bände: 18 cm.
ZUSTAND
Sehr guter Zustand. Sauberes und breitrandiges Exemplar. Kräftiger Druck auf festem Büttenpapier. Vereinzelt wenige Wurmspuren. Minimal fleckig, Ränder stellenweise nur leicht wasserfleckig. Sonst keine Mängel, Risse oder Beschädigungen.
PROVENIENZUm 1590 ‐ Ambrosius Mantz, Ehingen ‐ Dessen handschriftlicher Besitzeintragauf den Titeln.
U.a. auch Löschung des Eintrages „Marcus Mantz“, offensichtlich sein Vater. Mantz stammte aus Ehingen und war Lehrer, Pfarrer und Buchautor. Er studierte u.a. in Ingolstadt. Zwischen 1595‐1597 finden wir ihn als Pfarrer an der Stadtpfarrkirche St. Martin in Illertissen.
Um 1850 ‐ Convicts‐Bibliothek Tübingen ‐ Deren Stempel auf den Titelblättern
Um 1960 ‐ Bibliothek von Hans Fürstenberg (1890‐1982) ‐ Dessen ExLibris „Ex Musaeo Hans Fürstenberg“, auf dem Innenspiegel von Band I.

Beautifully printed post-incunabula edition of the Summa Theologica of the Florentine Archbishop Antoninus with the repertory.
ILLUSTRATIONDouble column, gothic Type, still printed in the style of an Incunable.
Two nice figurative woodcut title borders. One large woodcut printers mark at the title to the repertory. 10 smaller woodcuts arranged in two rows with with depictions of saints below the title to volume I and small woodcut printers mark at the end of part IV.

BINDINGS
Two original, uniforme, late gothic bindings. Blindstamped pigskin over massive wooden boards. The covers with rectangular and diagonal lines of strokes. Outer borders with flowers and lily rhomboid pistils, the centre fields with large pistils. Probably South German Workshop (Swabia?). Beveled edges. Four intact clasps. Four bounds. Extensive grip register. Very good condition.
Bookblock and bindins strong and stable. Covers slightly stained and rubbed with some small wormholes. Locking stylishly renewed.
Folio: 31,5 x 21,5 cm. Total thickness of the volumes: 18 cm.
CONDITIONIn very good condition. Clean and wide rimmed. Strong print on strong handmade paper. Occasionally few Wormtracks. Minimal stained, margins partly minimal waterstained. Otherwise without defects, cracks or damages.
PROVENANCEAround 1590 ‐ Ambrosius Mantz, Ehingen ‐ with handwritten owners note at the titles. Also with deletion of the note „Marcus Mantz“, probably his father.
Mantz came from Ehingen and was teacher, pastor and book author. He studied in Ingolstadt and other places. Between 1595-1597 we find him as a pastor at the parish church of St. Martin in Illertissen.
