1890s Swiss F MATHILE Locle 14K GOLD Guilloche Enamel Hunter Ladies Pocket Watch. A RARE FIND from a watch collector's estate! A beautiful antique Fs. MATHILE solid yellow gold hunters case ladies guilloche enamel pocket watch with a small rose cut diamond accent, circa 1890's; currently running for over 24 hours and at 24 hours was within 2 minutes accuracy. The total gross weight of the watch is 39.6 grams. PLEASE NOTE: The watch case is NOT marked as to the gold content so I paid to have the metal tested using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The actual gold content as stated in the report is 13.420 KT. (a copy of the report will be included in the shipment). This Swiss bar jeweled gilt movement is key wind and key set (from the rear; key is included) and has blued screws. Please note that the collector died over 2 decades ago and collected from the 1960's to the 1980's, so a good service (clean & oil) will be in order. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals and is in good condition. The fancy hands are gold colored and have bluing at the ends (tips); there is loss to some of the finish with light corrosion in those areas and there is a slight bend / twist to the minute hand. The second hand has a brighter bluing and is presumed NOT original. The glass crystal is in good condition with some light scratches. The yellow gold case has offset hinge locations for the front and rear covers; the cuvette is also hinged. The front cover is held closed by a steel latch near the pendant and is opened by pressing down on the small button atop the pendant. The outer covers are intricately engraved with enameled accents throughout; there is some loss to this enameling. There is an oval on both the front and rear of dark blue guilloche enamel; there are heavy scratches to both the front and rear enamel and some LOSS to the enamel on the rear; please see the detailed pictures. The front has a lovely woman wearing a tiara with a rose cut diamond at the center; there are 2 smaller stones, one on either side of the diamond that were too small for my "Presidium Diamond Mate-C Tester" to test. There are repairman's markings on the inside of the rear and cuvette covers and a few small dings to the reeding design on the outer perimeter of the case. The outer surface of the cuvette cover is marked, "No. 62448, Fs. MATHILE, LOCLE". There are light scratches to the case and covers; with a couple small dents to the cuvette cover. The outer diameter of the case is 39.24mm, with a height (including the bow) of 56.05mm. The overall thickness of the case is 11.35mm.
