Powerslide went back to the drawing board to create a fitness focused skate unlike anything we have ever seen before. Let us introduce the Powerslide Swell 110 SPC 2018 Black skates. When Powerslide started developing the Swell skate they had 6 main priorities they wanted to achieve; 1 - The skate needed to be FASTER with more roll and more grip, 2 - The skate had to offer a LOWER center of gravity then anything else in the current 100+mm wheel market. 3 - BIGGER wheels offering more comfort, less vibration and superior stablility thus giving an overall safer roll. 4 - A LIGHTER skate achieved by using less wheels, bearings and hardware. 5 - To achieve an EASIER skate, with more control and super maneuverability that easily adapts to your skating style. 6 - A unique COOLER overall look of the skate to make it stand out from the crowd and gain interest from the non rollerblading community. With the desired achievements set out it was time to get tech on the features of the Swell and deliver some all new specifications never before seen in the skating world.

The attention is in the detail. Powerslide claim the inner shell of the skate is probably the most remarkable component in the Powerslide Swell skates, not only does it work as the base that connects and supports the whole boot but its precisely engineered shape keeps your heel firmly locked in and improves your stability right from the bottom. They used a special nylon composite with fiberglass mixed into the material, resulting in a light yet exceptionally strong and supportive structure that can’t be achieved with ordinary plastics. The bottom of the shell also incorporates the unique cross-rib design to guarantee torsion stiffness and perfect power transfer for each stride as first seen in the PS VII skates. But the most innovative feature of the shell is the asymmetrical construction. Unlike ordinary fitness skates the Swell shells are perfectly shaped and anatomically engineered for left and right feet in order to create a better fitting, better performing skate resulting in an extremely comfortable, highly responsive boot. They then married this with an all new next generation Powerslide cuff. The cuff offers solid lateral support with the perfect amount of forward-backward flex to promote a great skating technique and get your skating stride on point. The built-in liner provides the perfect amount of 3d anatomical padding in all the right areas. To support the ethos of the skate being faster and lighter then anything created before it was fitting for the Swell to be a Tri-skate, when we say Tri-skate we mean it has 3 wheels. Although it looks a little bit crazy the actual science behind a three wheel skate makes complete sense. Three big wheels offer a bigger footprint with more PU in contact with the ground and more response out of the corners. So that’s why less wheels mean more grip. Also three wheel frames can be lower and shorter than traditional 4 wheel frames with smaller wheels, making it easy to maneuver and control your stride, and with the middle wheel right under your center of gravity, turns are easier and the whole skating experience feels more natural. The Swell 110 Black skates come with the 255mm one piece Unity 6063 T6 aircraft aluminium frame that is lighter and lower then any other fitness frame on the market. The wheels that come complete with the skate are Powerslide's own 110mm / 86A wheel and complimented perfectly with the WCD ABEC 9 free spin bearings. The Swell comes without a brake fitted, but one is included in the box.
