BEAUTIFUL AND RARE BONNEVILLE PICCOLO (#5009) WITH BOEHM SYSTEM KEYWORK - SUPERB OVERHAULED CONDITION
Auguste Bonneville was a 19th century Parisian silver-smith who worked for V.H.Godfroy and Louis Lot. In 1876 he set up his own workshop making flutes and piccolos for many years. His flutes were and are admired for their superior workmanship and I understand his piccolos were especially sought-after and are consequently hard to find.
This particular piccolo has the serial number 5009 and I cannot give you an exact idea of date but perhaps in the 1920s? It is a conical bore piccolo with a Boehm system and measures 315mm from crown to end of foot and 255m from centre of embouchure hole to foot and with the headjoint only pulled out a couple of mm plays at 440. The wood I believe is cocuswood and has a beautiful rich golden grain with no cracks. There is a tiny chip in the crown but that is all and so this piccolo is in remarkable condition. It has a closed G# is in Db and I believe the keys to be nickel-silver, silver plated. It has been completely stripped down, rods oiled, fully repadded and adjusted and it plays very nicely. As with all vintage instruments there are always personal opinions on exactly the right pad and adjustment and therefore you may wish to adjust to your taste or specification, but all flutes and piccolos are carefully and fully serviced and are sent in complete playing condition.

This is a rare piccolo in beautiful condition and to find one in such lovely condition is always exciting and this will make a perfect addition to someone's collection or of course to play. It comes with a vintage hardcase which I believe is the original but does not have markings. I am not an expert on vintage flutes and piccolos and so I will answer any questions as best I can.
