( This is the same as the other Fuzz kit I sell minus the case. see this link for a version with case: Click here for version with case   ) Knobs, Footswitch, Pots, Sockets, Circuit Board, Components, Wire + Battery Clip Kit contains high quality parts including Neutrik sockets, Alpha Pots, capacitors are Panasonic audio grade for the electrolytics and a metalised film for the non electrolytic.  Tinned copper stranded wire. Genuine Motorola/Fairchild Transistors.  These parts cost more than the cheap generic chinese parts but are more reliable and improve the sound quality. This is the latest version of the kit with transistor sockets and 5 A4 pages of instructions and diagrams. Includes printed diagrams of the Fuzz Face, one schematic one diagram of the strip board layout, and a colour coding wiring diagram showing where the wires to the switch, pots and sockets go.  There is a lot of information on the internet about building these.  It is not for the absolute beginner as you will need to solder.  However as far as effects pedals go it doesn't get a lot simpler. All the parts are included except for a battery (you need a standard 9v one).  I have made a pedal using the same parts and it sounds very nice!  There is a link to one I made at the bottom (yes I know the guitar playing is bad!  I'm a synthesiser person and into the electronics side) The parts included are listed below: 1 x Footswitch : A standard 3 pole dual throw switch as found all over ebay!  Good quality and allows “true bypass”, that is sending the signal around the fuzz when it's turned off. Sockets: 1 x Neutrik 3 pole 1/4” jack socket, 3 pole acts as a switch (Neutrik are very good quality, your plugs will certainly not fall out easily) 1 x Neutrik 2 pole 1/4” jack socket Components A ready cut piece of strip board with tracks ready cut 2 x 2N5088 low noise transistors 2 x 3 pin transistor sockets (so you can swap transistors and you cannot damage the transistors by soldering) All resistors (low noise where possible): All capacitors:   1 x 22uf Panasonic for Audio type   1 x 2.2uf Panasonic for Audio type   1 x 0.01uf Wima box Hi Fi grade 1 x 100k Log pot for volume control (both pots are sawed to length and filed smooth) 1 x 1k Linear pot for drive control 2 x knobs 9v Battery Clip Hookup wire about 1m each of red and white The only extras you should need are:
  • A soldering iron and solder
  • Some wire cutters to cut and strip the wire (scissors can work)
  • Some pliers or an adjustable spanner to tighten the socket and potentiometer nuts
  • Small flat screwdriver to tighten
  • A battery 9v Rectangular type
  • A case
LED Option I have not included an LED as it uses a fait bit of battery power and adds complexity, however I have added a page to the instructions on how to add an LED if you wish to do so. The case can be primed and painted with car paint, or something like hammerite which you dont need primer for.  Another option is to give it a brushed finish with sandpaper.  Or you can leave it as it is.  Here's a link below to a video of one I made earlier, I've added an LED to this one and the knobs are not as good as the ones in the kit but the sound is the same.  This is straight into a DI input not via an amp.  The amp would add a lot of warmth.
