  • Beschreibung: Eine junge Frau sitzt auf ihrem Bett mit Baldachinüberhang und liest einen Brief, dessen Inhalt sie zum Weinen bringt. Mit dem Saum ihres weißen Nachthemds trocknet sie ihre Tränen, wodurch ihre Oberschenkel zu sehen sind. Auf dem Teppich vor ihrem Bett hat sie ihre Hausschuhe abgelegt. Ein weißes Gewand hängt über einem grünen Hocker. Am rechten Bildrand steht ein Beistelltisch mit einer Kerze und einem Getränk.
